Our Theme is: ARUNACHALA, RAMANA MAHARSHI AND THE PATH OF SELF KNOWLEDGE:
In Universal Sufism we are encouraged to tune in to illuminated souls because that bridge of sympathy and alignment can transcend barriers and allow us to receive blessings and be transformed in a direct and unspoken way. Ramana Maharshi is one such being who I (Karim) have been strongly drawn to since I first saw a picture of him in which his gaze shows his complete absorption in the Divine. Ramana had his ashram at Arunachala a red hill in southern India which is a Shiva holy place and many people, of a variety of faiths, were drawn to visit him because of his deep realisation and presence. Since singing a wonderful Bhajan 'Om Arunachala Om' I have felt strongly drawn to visit the ashram there and then discovered that several people I knew regularly went there. One of those is Anja who has been a member of our Sufi Garden group for some time. So for this evening we will collaborate to bring you, through song, dance, stories, readings, prayer and meditation a flavour of Arunachala and Ramana Maharshi.
Alan will be taking a break so won’t be with us this time but will return in Nov.

DANCE DAY IN HALL GREEN BIRMINGHAM 11am - 4.30pm:
Join us for sacred song and dance in Hall Green Quaker Meeting House, Birmingham.

Tues 20th Oct: SACRED SONG AND DANCE 7.30 - 9.30 pm:
THe Globe, Newport St, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford HR3 5BG
Come and join us in the joy of sacred songs and circle dances inspired by the spiritual traditions of the world. As we sing and move together we will help each other to experience Love, Peace, Harmony, Healing and Beauty and and to enliven these qualities into our lives and the world.
All welcome – no experience needed - no need to book, just turn up.

CHANTING IN DEPTH: Monday Sept 28th, Oct 12th, 26th from 4.00- 5.15 pm:
A series of sessions on Mondays via Zoom or in person at our house in Tyberton, Herefordshire. We will learn and deepen into a small number of devotional chants drawn from a variety of sources and inspired by the treasury of the world’s spiritual traditions. We sing the same chants each time and then take a break before starting a new cycle. Recordings and word sheets will be provided.
Everyone is welcome. No special skills are needed, just a willingness to open the heart to the blessings of these sacred songs.
There is no fixed charge but donations are requested. Once costs are covered the donations go to the charity Children of Peace. Last year we raised over £1000 for them.
